Swerving France this year again.
Only did the one night last year due to my sons serious illness.
Never thought I'd see the day I'd take him fishing again.
He's now on road to recovery and we're going to get as much in as poss this year.
Got 50k of bait in freezer, treated myself to new trakker bedchair and fortis bag. Il blank in warmth and style at least.

Got two trips planned this year, off to an unfished private lake in Joigny(three test nights in november had 16 fish to 44lb) for my birthday in may and then Les Telliats in august, good luck mate.

Re: Four weeks tonight and we are off on our annual French fishing trip
Manip
I found this place long ago, using it as a stop over on the way to a villa down south
Its a campsite, I use Eurocamp. Now there are two lakes and a well appointed site, I book a static and get right on the lake, private with a 12 ft privet hedge around each pitch and an arch straight on the bank, proper gaffe as these things go, dishwasher, fridge freezer, shower etc. The beauty of it is that my lad can lurk inside and have time to revise whilst I can shoot back in for a coffee, tuck or a pony, At night if I elect not to fish, there are bars and eateries and a small provincial town nearby with more
The lakes are runs waters, carp up to 30's, sturgeon the size of doberman pincers and the odd good tench, plenty of silvers and big bream which can be a problem but no crays or those little bastard poison chat things
I absolutely caned it last year on tigers and a tiral bait I field tested for Hinders, Nut 365 now it is released for sale
This year I have upped the game, baits are fresh ABS rolled through Blakes, stunning tiger and maple and as an alternative, the Krinella. particles are hemp, parti blend, pigeon conditioner, tiger, crushed tiger, maples, peanuts and crushed peanut, That for the spod with plenty of corn, rice pudding, condensed milk, coconut milk, desecated coconut and horselick rock salt, finely ground
The jewel in the crown is that there is a grossly underfished river that runs behind the site, holds whacking great carp, cats and barbel, plus plenty of chub and good silvers
So I revert to original type on that and fish the feeder for the big chub, bounce meat for the barbel and will this year target the carp. Have some 24mm donkey chockers in the Krinella that I will use with a fishmeal spod mix on top of the usual base with tuna and trout pellet
The lake would not be to everyones taste given the location, but as a package, I can cook up more seed, take an extra freezer with me etc it is a relaxing break - the river is different gravy, no angler with a pulse could resist that
If you want to travel to France fishing, feel free to contact me at anytime, have done a bit over there and researched a lot so can pretty comfortably advise you on waters but most importantly, baits and what to take etc
I'll keep you informed - like a kid before Christmas, collecting the bait today and the house looks like a tackle shop with all the new gear thats arriving ;)
Roll on 5 days

Crassus.

Top fucking man.

Sounds like you have got all the gear and a bloody good idea. swt.

Hoping to book a jaunt for my 40th next year, keep us posted on your exploits, and bring experiences home and advice.

I bet you cannot wait for the moment when you plonk yourself down on your bedchair, fully bivvy'ed up, in your chosen swim.

Super Tight Lines.

One of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me was hooking a chub.

Re: Four weeks tonight and we are off on our annual French fishing trip
Was out last week on the Wid.

Last bite (and only bite of the session) of the river season was a chub, probably just under 3lb.

It was fucking cold and squally rain so I left it on a good note.

Will be looking to land a few tench in June.

Good luck to all the WHO tanglers.

Sorry to hear that North, thats a fucker and not untypical at key holiday times, they strike just before to show what they could do during the peak, the authorities do a surrender monkey and everyones a winner, bar the poor cunts that get their holiday ruined

I do hope that you get away sharpest, The Frenchies have a habit of kicking off and then calming very quickly, so fingers crossed

I am driving mate, had allsorts of capers in the past, from fuel strikes, farmers burning sheep to a 'refugee' invasion of the tunnel area - still adore France mind, stunning place

Re: Four weeks tonight and we are off on our annual French fishing trip
Crassus good luck with it mate and hope you have a great time, haven't read the whole tread so not sure how you're getting there, I was meant to fly out to Spain tomorrow but have been fucked over along with so many others as once again those cheese munching surrendering French fuckwits in air traffic have gone on strike so all flights over French air space cancelled until further notice

Have got a provisional flight on Sunday but it's not guaranteed and can't claim anything back on insurance

Re: Four weeks tonight and we are off on our annual French fishing trip
Week today and we are off

15kg of finest boilie being rolled to order
Shit tonne of particles ordered for weekend cooking and blending
Small fortune spent on new gear, again

Those carp are having it

Then on the saturday, we will be in a bar for the football and then the fight - just to fuck things up!

Going fishing with my old man is a nightmare, he's always falling over and getting in tangles and wipeouts etc. To think he taught me how to fish!

I do enjoy a bit of comedy angling
